Grilled Chicken Legs Recipe

Many of my viewers have been asking for chicken recipes..Its been a while since I posted chicken recipes. So here I am with an awesome simple chicken dish that taste heavenly. I made this last week for dinner and we had it with some Butter Naan, I had a recipe for Wheat Naan in my blog, you can try that too. My sisters loved it so much and they told me to make it again. This can be made in a barbeque or grill, since I don’t own one. My little OTG oven helped me.

How to Make Grilled Chicken Legs Recipe

Marination

Blend all ingredients given in the marination list to a puree. Slit the chicken and pour this marination over the chicken and allow it to marinate overnight or upto 3 hours.

Baking

Place a wire rack over the baking tray and place the chicken over that. Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F. Place this chicken in to the oven Bake it for 20 mins. Flip it over after 20 mins and cook for another 30 mins on other side. Serve garnished with cilantro.

Ingredients

  • 2 Chicken Legs
  • For Marination:
  • 2 tbsp Ginger
  • 6 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 tsp Black Pepper Pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 3 tbsp Oil

Instructions

    Chicken looks very spicy and very tempting. One small suggestion for you. i think you have used the ginger with its skin. i read in an article we should not use fresh ginger with its skin. it is sometimes poisonous. so just scrap the skin of ginger and use it.

    Hey arthi your recipes are quite easy and lovely .. i am new to non-veg dept and have purchased an otg couple o days ago .. i cooked the grilled chicken following the instructions (i used pieces of chicken breast though) but my chicken was chewy 🙁 ...help please will be waiting for ur reply :)thanku

    @ramyaChicken breast tends to get chewy and touch when cooked for too long. Since it gets cooked quicker, you have to reduce the cooking time while you cook chicken breast

    @Anonymousit depends on the size of the chicken..if you are using larger it will take time, if you use small piece then the time will be less

      Hi, I tried and it was superb yummy.
      Instead of baking i cooked it on tawa(Iron pan), it tastes soo good and takes v less time. thank you for the recipe..

    Hi Aarthi. I'm a silent follower of your blog and love your recipes. I have marinated the chicken and have 1 question. U have mentioned that this has to be done in bake mode with both elements on. I have a morphy Richards 28 Lts otg. The bake mode here will only have the bottom element on. Am I missing something.please help.

    I tried grilled chicken today in my lg 32l microwave convection oven and it turned out hard and dry. I didn't preheat the oven and cooked the chicken for 20mins. Why it went hard? How can I get soft and moist chicken?
