LinkedIn Network shoutout to Eric Martindale. Those who follow Eric (and if you don't you should) know that he consistently calls out the opportunities many brands have on Instacart. I've had Instacart as a medium priority for the past year or so, but struggled to get traction with anyone at Instacart to get this done. We're obviously not a big "CPG" brand, but I am in the camp of finding any opportunity to drive sales and brand awareness.I mentioned this in a comment on one of Eric's posts about 10 days ago. That same day, he had me connected to someone and my Ad account was live. Now over a week into our first test campaign, we're seeing Roas below other channel averages, as expected, but the New to Brand Sales are over 90%!I've already made some initial optimizations, based on keyword/item performance and will let the Auto optimizer do its thing for a few more weeks, before determining how much more budget to add.In eCommerce we need to be consistently in test & learn mode, to find those hidden $$! #instacart #eCommerce #retail #petsupplies #CPG

Good insight, Darren Silverman. To me though, your items can be "regimen" type products which means a possible consistent source of usage throughout the year. Unfortunately, this "consumer" doesn't talk to us about their favorite toy, bone, etc. But as fast as they burn through toys, I have to believe a great opp for you guys.

Continuous Learning, especially in the eCommerce space is critical for success.I invested my time this week attending the Cleveland Research Company eCommerce Conference in San Diego. I’ve not attended this in the past couple of years, and I realize why it’s such a high value event, that needs to be on my calendar every year. The team at CRC does a great job weaving their own excellent content together with Speakers and panels on the topics that are top of mind to many eCommerce leaders. Couple that with the valuable connections with peers, some that I’ve known for years and new ones as well.Some of the content was so spot on, I was dropping projects on my team in real time during the presentations (yes of course they love that! 🙄). And have a list of key follow up with various connections from the event.Big Topics that were well presented: - ASIN indexing for relevant keywords, especially ones your targeting with paid ads. - Consumer and retailer Outlook – CRC always has excellent perspectives- Retail Media evaluation and attribution- Content strategies that engage your organization around the same goals - Consumer – Product - discovery - shopping behaviors that really validated some current projects we’re working on.All in all well worth time, and I believe the few hundred of us in attendance now have a leg up on the rest of you!! 😉

I’ve said it here before, but just about every agency relationship I’ve launched has been what I believe those agencies consider an “inbound lead”. The value of LinkedIn and the amazing CPG + ecommerce industry is the ability to share content build connections and to see how leaders interact in the community and with their team members. It truly helps put a shine on those that we want to work with when the time comes for a change in resources. When you go through the review and quote process you focus on competency and value, but also how you think your teams will work together. The home run is when an agency does great work and your teams and theirs just click and deliver. We’re so fortunate to have multiple relationships like that, including Jason Landro and his team at Nectar. Additionally, some agency leads take you golfing or to great seats at a sporting event… Jason invited me to work out at Lifetime fitness, early in the morning before our meeting. Non traditional but honestly great quality time talking business between sets, (and I’m certain we’re both better in the gym than on the golf course).

Will Nitze you got some love from Eric Martindale this morning for your IQ Mix. Just happens my bar order (taking advantage of the anniversary special) arrived yesterday and I had added the IQ Joe Variety Pack just to try them. TBH been skeptical on this (scarred from too much Nescafé in College), but wanted to give it a shot. Some good coffee my friend.
